Twelve countries are faced with confirmed cases. Three new countries on wednesday 29 April, Austria, Switzerland and Peru have annouced confirmed cases of "Mexican flu". This brings the number of countries affected up to 12 after Mexico, USA, Costa Rica, Canadan, Israel, New Zealand, Spain, Germany and Great Britain.

• Confirmed fatalities: On wednesday, there were 8 cases in Mexico, while the US has registered the first case on their soil, in Houston. It is a mexican child aged 23 months visiting Texas.



• Notified cases: on wednesday evening, there were 148, 91 of whch in the US, according to the WHO



• In France, François Fillon has indicated that it was highly likely that 2 suspected cases of swine flu would be confirmed. Two adults back from Mexico have been hospitalized, one at the hospital Necker, the other at the Pitie Salpetrière, in Paris.
